9 Great Cloud Apps For Video Teams

Cloud-based apps are increasingly enabling video teams to get their planning work done faster and better. Below is a list of nine apps we love using here at Cineflair. These apps are not only some of the best in their class, they also work well for video projects. You can count on these apps to be your tireless assistants through all stages of production from planning to shooting, editing and final delivery.

1. CELTX

Celtx is an amazing all-in-one solution for managing all types of motion-picture projects. It’s made up of a dozen mini-apps that make it easy to create great-looking scripts, storyboards, shot lists, budgets and schedules for your video projects. It also makes it easy to invite your teammates to help you edit any of your drafts.

2. SHOT DESIGNER

Shot Designer is designed to help you quickly design and block camera coverage of your scene. We use it to plan out more complex camera movements.

3. WIPSTER

Wipster is one of the best frame-by-frame video review platforms out there. It has a slick interface that you’ll get familiar within seconds. It makes collecting feedback from everyone a breeze.

4. EVERNOTE

Evernote lets you create quick notes and share them with anyone on your team. We use Evernote to “jot down” quick notes when brainstorming or researching for projects. Our notes are synced instantly and are available on our iPhones and iPads, so we can access them on location.

5. GOOGLE DOCS

Google Docs is a powerful web-based word processing app that’s hooked up to Google Drive. We use it to create good ol “word” documents, typically for project proposals. It’s incredibly easy for anyone on the team to jump in to edit, review and comment on anything within a single document.

6. DROPBOX

Dropbox is one of the most popular cloud storage services out there and it’s for good reason. It's reliable and easy to use. We typically use it to share finished video files with our clients for easy download.

7. SLACK

Slack is a pretty slick team messaging app. This app has basically eliminated our need for internal emails. We use it everyday to discuss project work, share-worthy articles and even random jibber-jabber.

8. WUNDERLIST

Wunderlist is a great-looking task management app. It lets you quickly schedule tasks and assign them to team members. It also integrates nicely with most calendar apps out there, so you can easily see all of your upcoming tasks within your devices' native calendar apps.

9. TOGGL

Toggl is a cool little time-tracking tool that helps you track and manage your time. It's a handy tool for keeping track of editing time hours.

That covers it. I hope you found this list helpful as you research for your perfect apps. Let us know in the comments section if you know of any great video team apps not mentioned in this list!
